"The Parliament is supposed to preserve the democracy and legitimacy", M. Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared today during the briefing in the Parliament.

The Deputy Chairman emphasised that today, having analyzed the actions of the present dignitaries one may notice serious threats for the Ukrainian country. "Unfortunately, in Government and on the high state posts appeared people who do not consider Halychyna to be a part of Ukraine, who deem Ukrainian language necessary only for small part of intelligent people and independence is easy to change for the formation of the union state", the political declared.

M. Tomenko also noticed that except ideological anti-Ukrainian world-view of many politicians, "it becomes a norm to appoint to the state management bodies people that do not know the official language of the state and in certain cases do not have even the higher education." "Latest events in the Parliament proved the fact such principles of personnel policy may be applied to the Verkhovna Rada, since we will make everything possible for the Parliament to be preserved as at least one territory pf democracy and law", - the Deputy Chairman emphasised.

M. Tomenko is convinced that the issue on division of the offices in the committees is less important than "the issue on compliance with law and interests of the opposition that represents actually the half of Ukraine", he stated.

At the same time m. Tomenko excused for the fact the Parliament is working on Good Friday in such regime. "Though it is easier to go through conflicts during one Good Friday than suffer lack of democracy during next five years", he declared.
